Resources for Lonas

We wish for young people to be protected from human trafficking and to be able to shape their future freely – without coercion and in freedom. That’s why we have developed a prevention program with modules that are related to human trafficking.

We also offer personal training for people who want to engage in the fight against human trafficking in their city or in the red-light district. Contact us for this.

Prevention Program

Target Group

This prevention material is suitable for young people aged 15-25 years. It informs participants about the topics of human trafficking and prostitution and helps young people to talk about it without shame. The prevention program is currently available in German, English, and other languages.

Structure

The prevention material consists of several modules. We recommend that you go through the modules in order. However, you can also work through or repeat modules individually with the young people. A module lasts 1 to 1.5 hours and is self-contained.

Materials

A PowerPoint presentation is available for each module. Additionally, you will have access to a list of links to thematically appropriate video clips.

For the participants, there is a notebook in which they can record personal thoughts.

Module Content

Each module includes a guide with background information, suggestions for interaction, action steps, and reflection times.

In this module, the young people learn what human trafficking is, what forms it takes, how perpetrators operate, and why people may become victims. They are taught to recognize the signs and to protect themselves and others.

Together with the young people, we take a look at everyday life in the red-light district and discuss the multifaceted nature of prostitution—its complexity, as well as the various reasons and circumstances behind it.

Abuse is a reality for many young people. This module discusses personal boundaries and the boundaries of others. How can I say no, and how can I protect myself? It empowers participants to respect themselves and stand up for themselves.

We all long for people who accept and love us. But how can I build good, healthy relationships? This module explores topics such as the positive and negative aspects of a relationship and the risks of meeting people online.
